Robert Pierce

Robert Pierce died Aug. 1 at Kitsap Hospice. He was 90.

Bob was born in Seattle and raised near Prosser. He joined the Navy at 17, saw much of the world, served in both theaters during World War II and later became a ship’s carpenter. He retired to Bainbridge and enjoyed gardening, canoeing, kayaking, reading and the Sportsman’s Club. Bob trekked everywhere with his walking stick.

He is survived by a daughter, son, sister, brother, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be said at 11 a.m. Aug. 20 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church where he was a member. An informal gathering to share memories of Bob’s life will be from 4:30-6 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Bainbridge Senior Center. An online guestbook is at www.cookfamilyfuneralhome.com.
