Reah Stoltenberg

Reah Stoltenberg, age 90

Reah Stoltenberg, of Redmond, died peacefully on Nov. 14, at the Evergreen Hospice Medical Center in Kirkland, with her nieces Kathy Follrich and Karen Berg by her side.

Reah was born April 30, 1919 in Findlay, Ohio, to Mary and Carl Twining. Following her parents’ divorce, her mother married Arthur Lang and settled in Suquamish, where Reah became the big sister in a blended family that included two brothers and three sisters.

In 1952, Reah married Allan Stoltenberg and they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They then moved to Spokane, Suquamish, and Snoqualmie Pass before settling on Bainbridge Island in 1962.

Reah enjoyed many hobbies and interests and will be remembered as an excellent cook, skilled seamstress, and lover of craft projects. She was an avid gardener and baseball fan. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals and gave a home to many dogs, cats, sheep and chickens. Reah was known for her hat collection, especially her signature red beret.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allan; brothers Jack Lang, of Cody, Wyo., and Arthur Lang, of Sequim; and sister Audrey Berg of Seattle.

Reah is survived by sisters Ferne Lang of Salem, Ore. and Patricia Levy of Atlanta, Ga.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 at St. Olaf Parish, 18943 Caldart Avenue NE, Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be gifted to Evergreen Hospice Medical Center, 12822 –124th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA 98034.
