Raymond Keeney Jr.

Raymond Keeney Jr. passed away on December 23rd, 2018 at the beautiful age of 92, Raymond was born on the 5th of December,1926 in Ketchikan, Alaska to Raymond Keeney and Inez(Skinner) Keeney. He served his country in the Army Air Core, in Germany during WWII and was a proud military man. On June 19th, 1948 he married the love of his life and soul mate, Mabel Louise (Gray) Keeney. They moved into their new home in Seattle, WA. on November 5th, 1948. After a few years of marriage, they moved to Bainbridge Island, WA to raise their 3 daughters. During his working career he rose to become the Controller at Rainier Brewery and eventually started Computer Supplies and Systems in Seattle, WA. Ray and Mabel later moved their business to Bainbridge Island, WA. He was active in the Bethany Lutheran Church and served for 10 years as the Treasurer of Port Blakely Cementary. Ray and Mabel shared a love of fishing, traveling around the United States in thier RV, but most especially loved their time spent at Long Beach and Moses Lake, WA., where Ray loved to sit in the sun and read and meet new friends. They also enjoyed traveling to their grandchildren’s sport events. Through the years they spent many trips with their daughters and their families, traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Frequently, grandchildren would join up with them on their adventures. All who were lucky enough to know Ray knew a kind, intelligent, loving and incredibly charismatic man, who would help any of his neighbors or churchgoers, whenever needed. Raymond is survived by his wife Mabel, his three daughters; Linda, Cheryl and Gail, his sister Arlene, seven grandchildren; Tige, Tia, Nick, Nat, Richard, Rory, and Ryan, six great grandchildren; Galen, Vivienne, Kali, Everly, Colton, and Scarlett and three son-in-laws; Bob, Jared and Rick. A memorial service will be held February 2nd, 2019, at the Bethany Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island, WA at 1:00pm. A reception, at the church will follow the service. All are welcome.
