Raul “Rocky” Arambula, 77, died Dec. 2 at his Bainbridge Island home.

He was born March 7, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., to Christopher Arambula and Maria Ayala.

He was a World War II veteran and had lived on the island since 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Arambula; stepchildren Don Muridan of Tacoma, Dawn Muridan of Kona, Hawaii, and Diona Thompson of Lakewood; nephew Rod Varney of Stamford, Conn.; and siblings, Kim Varney of Stamford, Conn., and Jimmy Randall of Chicago, Ill.

Private services are planned, with arrangements by Kass & Cook Family Funeral Home.
