Natalie Byrd McAtee, 86, of Bainbridge Island, died July 7.
She was born March 23, 1918, in Grants Lick, Ky., to Russell Byrd and Mary Baker.
She lived for a time in Palm Beach, Fla., where she worked as a fashion model, and in Dallas, Texas, where she eventually retired as a real estate agent.
She was a life member of the Association of Research and Enlightenment, founded by Edward Cayce.
She treasured a friendship with Cayce’s son Hugh Lynn Cayce, and also memories of a trip with other A.R.E. members to the Holy Land.
She lived with a spirit of service — she taught “charm” classes to troubled teenage girls, and after her retirement volunteered with HeadStart.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Michael “Mike” McAtee, in 1994.
