Milagros Rebollido Bucsit

October 29, 1934 – November 5, 2011

      Milagros Rebollido Bucsit, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at her home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She was born on October 29, 1934 in Candon City, Philippines to Pedro Rebollido and Ines Valdez Caliboso. She was 77 years of age.

      She was married to Daniel H. Bucsit on Bainbridge Island at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. They were married for 26 years. Milagros, or more commonly known as Mila, was a resident of B.I. for 45 years. She lived in Candon City and Manila, Philippines before B.I. She worked as a Legal Secretary for the Gorozpe Law Firm (Manila) and as a Stock and Securities Administrator for Bank of America (Seattle) for 25 years. She was the founder and a former President of The Sampaguita Women’s Club and a past President and long-time member of the Filipino American Community of B.I. and Vicinity. She volunteered at St. Cecilia’s as a Eucharistic Minister, choir member and a Legion of Mary member. She traveled extensively, loved to cook, go to social events and spend time with her grandchild. She devoted herself to her family and friends.

      Mila is survived by: Fatima, Mark and Isabella Wallin, daughter/son-in-law/only grandchild, stepchildren and their respective families: Diane Castilleja (B.I.), Jean Cabunoc (B.I.), Daniella Gonzaga (B.I.), Elizabeth Domondon (Seattle) and Daniel Bucsit Jr. (Seattle): cousins Perlitta Borge (Vancouver, B.C.) and Ophelia Gloria (Kennewick, WA) and many other extended family.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: brothers Perfecto and Avelino Rebollido, and sisters Luz, Magdalena, and Estrella.

      Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Friday, November 11th, 2011 from 5-7 PM followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11:00 AM at the Church. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery on Bainbridge Island and a reception will follow.
