Mary Ann Calles

1954 – 2015

Mary Ann Calles surrounded by her loving family passed away on July 10th, in Pasadena, California. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 34 years, Adolfo Calles and her children, Ryan Wolfe and Julia and Fito Calles.

Mary Ann was born in Seattle in 1954. Raised on Bainbridge Island, she graduated from Bainbridge High School and subsequently graduated from Seattle University in 1985, earning her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She went on to receive a dual Masters from California State Long Beach in Nursing and Healthcare Administration.

Living the past 16 years in Los Angeles , Mary Ann was an avid hiker, climbing Mt Whitney, many local southern California peaks and her favorite hike to Machu Picchu.

She was very involved with the Awareness Center in Pasadena, where she pursued a life of Kundalini yoga, becoming a yogi.

Most importantly Mary Ann possessed that rare gift of logic and compassion that she approached every situation and person with. Anyone who met her for the first time was always impressed with her intellect, energy and sense of humor. It was often said that Mary Ann could light up any room or group with her presence. She engaged everyone she knew with a sincere interest in whom they were and what they had to say.

Though a light has gone out in our lives, her memory will always light a smile on the faces of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A reception to celebrate her life will be held on August 22 at The Wing Point Golf and Country Club, on Bainbridge Island. From three to six P.M. A private memorial for immediate family members only will follow on Sunday.
