LaVon Beverly Bixenman

January 22, 1938 – April 6, 2019

On Saturday, April 6, 2019, LaVon Beverly Bixenman, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away of natural causes at the age of 81.

LaVon was born on January 22, 1938, in Salt Lake City, UT to Lester and Pearl Bixenman. They moved to Bainbridge Island, WA when she was 4, where she remained an Island resident for her remaining 77 years.

A Bainbridge High School graduate of the class of 1957, LaVon had a passion for playing softball in the summer months and continued her love for sports as an enthusiastic fan of our local sports teams, the Sonics, Seahawks and Mariners.

LaVon worked for the Bainbridge Island School District and was extremely passionate about the kids she drove on the bus to and from school each day; she retired after 25 years. She then worked at Safeway and retired in 2010, after 13 years.

LaVon was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Pearl Bixenman, her daughter Arleen Borgen, and her brothers Lawrence and Bob Bixenman. She is Survived by her sister Dorothy (Chuck) Callaham, her sons Greg (Cindy) Borgen and Gary (Viola) Borgen, two granddaughters, and four great-granddaughters.

LaVon’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Seabold Community Hall at 11 o’clock a.m.
