Laurinda (Rin) Zuercher Lanza, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 9, 1950, to Warren and Beverly Zuercher, Rin grew up in Seattle, WA, where her bright spirit, compassion, and sense of adventure first took root.
Rin’s life was filled with the things she cherished most: long walks with family and friends, quiet mornings with a book or a knitting project, and time spent hiking or skiing beneath the trees and mountains she felt so deeply connected to. Rin was a Registered Nurse for 50 years, serving her community in Port Townsend and on Bainbridge Island throughout her professional career. She gave her support, strength, kindness, and unique light generously to others all her life.
Rin is lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of many years, Vince Lanza; her children, Anna and Joe Lanza; her sister, Pam Metcalfe; and her four granddaughters—Liliana, Makena, Elle, and Lucy—who were the joy and sparkle of her later years. She is now reunited with her beloved sister Lynette, no doubt cruising together in a convertible, listening to Pink Cadillac, laughing, and watching over the family they adored.
A memorial service will be held on Bainbridge Island in the summer of 2026, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the extraordinary woman she was.
