Elizabeth Sexton Kidder

Bainbridge resident Elizabeth Sexton Kidder, age 84, died Aug. 16 in Seattle.

She was born Mar. 31, 1918 in Winchester, Mass. to Isaac Edward Sexton and Nellie (Fraser) Sexton. She attended Brimmer and Mary High School in Boston, Mass. and graduated from Bennett College in Millbrook, N.Y. in 1938.

On Mar. 21, 1942, she married Arthur A. Kidder, Jr. in Winchester, Mass.

She was a homemaker, and enjoyed painting, needlepoint, knitting and rug hooking. She was a member of the Freedom Public Library in Freedom, N.H., Bainbridge Island Visually Impaired Support Group and the Wing Point Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kidder, in 1989, and siblings Edward Sexton, Jane Prescott and Helen Mcintyre.

She is survived by three daughters, Lynda Kidder Scheer of Coconut Creek, Fla., Dianne Kidder and husband Dan Johnston of Bainbridge, and Sally Kidder David and husband Bob of Bainbridge; eight grandchildren — Andrew J. Scheer, Jr., Christopher A. Scheer, Timothy A. Robinson, Jessica E. Robinson, Elizabeth F. Robinson, Sarah S. Davis, Tiffany M. Davis and Joshua P. Davis; and great-grandchild Tyler D. Robinson.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 24 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Barrington, R.I. under the direction of Monahan, Kelly, Drabble, Sherman Funeral Home in Providence, R.I. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Barrington, R.I.
