Cora M. George

Cora Marie George, age 86

      Cora Marie George died on October 18 peacefully in her sleep after a battle with liver cancer. She was born on January 20, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert and Marie George.

      In the late 1940s, she moved to Seattle and became an insurance broker. In the mid-1960s she purchased property on Bainbridge Island and built her home where she lived for 40 years before moving to Indianola. She loved the variety of the Seattle arts scene, both performing and visual. Cora was a season ticket holder to the Seattle Opera for 50 years. She helped at Compass Housing Alliance in Seattle and at Martha and Mary in Poulsbo. She loved the Mariners! Cora was a loving, laughing, generous woman who enjoyed good food and wine.

      Cora is survived by her brother Robert George and his wife Grace of Michigan, nieces and nephews, and her extended family of friends.
