Catherine Baillargeon Brownell, 79

Catherine Baillargeon Brownell, age 79, of Bainbridge Island died Dec. 11.

She was born March 15, 1924 to Katherine Agen and Cebert Baillargeon.

She was one of the first woman stockbrokers in New York City, and later published the Practical Philanthropist for 10 years.

She was a founding board member of the Executive Service Corps of Washington, and served on the board of directors of Cornish College of the Arts for 25 years.

She was a member of the Alma Stewart Ballinger Guild of Children’s Orthopedic Hospital, and the Sunset Club.

She is survived by husband Francis H. Brownell III; daughters Catherine G. Noonan-Flint, Sheila B. Noonan (Peter Hartley), Moira M. Noonan of San Diego, Calif.; sons Dermot C.F. Noonan (Kelly), Tighe Agen Noonan (Isabelle) of Paris, France, and Cebert S.J. Noonan of New York, N.Y.; grandchildren Aidan, Julian and Alexandra Flint, David and Stuart Hartley, Malia Ferry, Riley Noonan and Mattieu, Juliette and Thomas Noonan; sister Patricia M. Baillargeon; and brothers Joseph C. Baillargeon and Charles F.X. Baillargeon.

She was preceded in death by former husband Dermot Noonan.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at St. James Cathedral, Seattle, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
