Anne Torbert White

January 17, 1915 – June 15, 2010

Anne died peacefully on June 15th at age 95. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts and arrived in Seattle as a newlywed to Horace Anderson White who predeceased her.

She remained in Seattle all her adult life and has four children who survive her: Pamela Leighton of Blue Bell, PA; Horace (Sandy) White, Jr. and wife Carol of Bainbridge Island; Candy Charlwood and husband Robin of Edmonds and Beth White of Vashon Island. She leaves six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Anne was a member of the Sunset Club, Seattle Golf Club, Seattle Garden Club, Seattle Junior League and the Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild.

She and Hod had a summer home on Bainbridge Island where they spent many happy years with friends and family.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on June 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the Horizon House Chapel, 900 University Street, Seattle. Remembrances may be made to Bainbridge Island Land Trust.
