Ann Grubaugh Valentine, age 86, died June 18 in Poulsbo.

She was born Jan. 21, 1916 in Sullivan, Ind. to Jacob and Nellie Shroyer. She lived in Indiana until moving to the Pacific Northwest four years ago, where she marveled at the majesty of the mountains and “that the trees are green, even in the winter.”

She is survived by son Jerome (Margaret) Grubaugh of Bainbridge Island; daughter-in-law Betty Grubaugh of Hammond, Ind.; grandchildren Lorrie (Larry) Meyers, Richard, Allen, Dorian (Linda) and Jeremy (Hannah) Grubaugh; and two great-granddaughters, Christy and Alannya.

She was predeceased by husbands Gleason Grubaugh and Rex Valentine, and son Richard Grubaugh.

Services will be at 2 p.m. June 25 in the chapel at Martha and Mary Nursing Care Center.
