Zucchini Races moved to October 22

The popular Farmers’ Market event has been postponed due to bad weather.

One of Bainbridge Island’s most popular events has been postponed due to heavy rain and wind forecast for the weekend.

The zany Zucchini Races, held by the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market on the lawn in front of the Bainbridge Performing Arts Building, have been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22.

“We decided to push the Zucchini Races back a week hoping for better weather,” said Peter Weber, market president and owner of Farmhouse Organics. “We want to make the event as comfortable as possible for families. It also gives the entrants additional time to create a great racer.”
