WSF to host community meeting on Bainbridge

Washington State Ferries will kick off a series of community meetings this summer with a meeting on Bainbridge Island next week.

Washington State Ferries will kick off a series of community meetings this summer with a meeting on Bainbridge Island next week.

WSF officials will discuss route-specific issues, liquefied natural gas, new vessel construction and long-range planning at the meetings.

Seven meetings are scheduled during June and July.

The Bainbridge Island is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23 at the Bainbridge Island Art Museum.

Other meetings planned are Tuesday, June 24 at the community center in Clinton on Whidbey Island; Wednesday, June 25 in San Juan County Council Chambers in Friday Harbor; Tuesday, July 1 at the Kingston Community Center in Kingston; Wednesday, July 2 at the Kitsap Conference Center, Bremerton; Tuesday, July 8 at Ober Park on Vashon Island; and Wednesday, July 9 at Harper Church in Port Orchard.

WSF will post meeting materials on its community meetings page closer to the meeting dates. The Friday Harbor meeting is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; all of the other meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

Community meetings are hosted by WSF twice a year to discuss current issues facing the state ferry system.
