Puget Sound Energy reported power outages across Kitsap County due to high winds Saturday morning.

The utility said shortly after 9 a.m. Jan. 11 it had received word of 527 outages system-wide that has affected approximately 37,880 customers.

PSE said power outages were also reported on Whidbey Island and north King County, in Woodinville, Sammamish, Redmond and other suburbs on the Eastside.

Five local storm bases have been set up to help dispatch crews across PSE’s service area, the company said on its Twitter feed Saturday.

“Our crews are in Beast Mode working hard to safely & quickly get your power back on!” the company said on Twitter.

The National Weather Service office in Seattle has issued a wind advisory for Puget Sound and the Seattle-Bremerton area that will remain in effect until midnight Saturday.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph and gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely.

The National Weather Service said winds of 25 to 35 mph from the south to southwest, with gusts up to 50 mph, are expected. Winds will become west to southwest in the afternoon.
