Washington state’s poet laureate gives reading at BIMA

The public is invited to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art for a poetry reading with Elizabeth Austen, a Washington State poet laureate, at BIMA tonight.

The public is invited to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art for a poetry reading with Elizabeth Austen, a Washington State poet laureate, at BIMA tonight.

Austen will be joined by noted poet Michelle Peñaloza at the special event from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 23Austen will read from her collection, Every Dress a Decision, as well as poems by other Washington poets. Penaloza will read from her newly released chapter book, Landscape/Heartbreak. The reading will be followed by a conversation with the audience.

A no-host wine bar will be available in the museum bistro beginning at 6 p.m.
