The Bainbridge Island School District has announced that a memorial service for Bainbridge High teacher and coach Mike Anderson has been set for later this month at the high school.

A celebration of life memorial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 in the commons at the high school.

Anderson, 60, was a longtime educator and taught for the past 19 years at Bainbridge High. He was the head coach for the Spartans co-ed tennis team, an economics teacher at BHS and the career and technical education director at the school.

He died Sept. 7 during an outing at Tiger Lake in north Mason County.
