The city of Bainbridge Island has announced that Rockaway Beach Road will be closed from Monday, Sept. 30 through November 2013.

The closure will shut down the road near the construction area, approximately 1,000 feet south of Old Creosote Hill Road.

The road is being shut down as work continues on the Rockaway Beach Road repair and stabilization project, which includes construction of approximately 340 feet of wall along the beach, geotextile slope stabilization and the restoration of approximately 550 feet of roadway.
