Annual inspections at the Hood Canal Bridge are scheduled to occur between Monday, Sept. 22, and Friday, Oct. 3.

State transportation officials are advising travelers that the inspections will require multiple openings of the Canal Bridge drawspan, which closes the bridge to vehicular traffic.

Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each weekday, motorists can expect delays when crossing the Highway 104 Hood Canal Bridge.

Numerous daily drawspan openings could be needed for crews to inspect various bridge components, officials said. Most openings are expected to be short.

Night drawspan openings are also scheduled for inspections between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, and 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2.
