Raffle tickets are now on sale for the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum’s sixth annual “Save Our History”.

The first prize can be as much as $5,000 cash (a check for $5,000 was awarded to last year’s first-place winner). This year’s second prize is an Apple iPad mini.

The raffle drawing is Dec. 1, just in time for the holidays.

Raffle tickets are available from Historical Museum board members and volunteers who will be selling tickets around the island ($10 for one ticket, $25 for three). They are also for sale at the museum (215 Ericksen Ave), by phone at

206-842-2773, or online at www.bainbridgehistory.org/events.aspx.

The “Save Our History” Raffle is the historical museum’s biggest fundraiser. Together with individual and corporate memberships, the raffle enables the museum to preserve and share the wonderful history of Bainbridge Island.

In 2013 the Historical Museum hosted more than 12,000 visitors from all 50 states and 62 foreign countries. More than 950 local students participated in history programs led by the museum’s talented teacher docents. In 2014 visitations have increased 25 percent over this time last year.

Everyone is a winner during the raffle: All raffle tickets are good for free admission to the historical museum, including the new “Port Blakely: Portrait of a Mill Town” and the award-winning Ansel Adams exhibit “A Portrait of Manzanar.”
