Three people filed to run for the Bainbridge Island City Council on the first day of Candidate Filing Week Monday, May 11.

A new candidate has tossed her hat in the ring for the District 2, North Ward seat: Susan D. Bergen.

Bergen, 56, is a landscape architect.

Also filing Monday were incumbent Councilman Mike Scott, who is seeking to retain his District 4, Central Ward council seat, and Councilwoman Sarah Blossom, who is running for re-election to the District 6, South Ward council seat.
