Spikers, gridders, kickers all win to set up big matches next week

Rivalry games take on bigger meaning for Bainbridge.

With the Bainbridge girls soccer team in attendance, the Bainbridge girls volleyball team took care of business by defeating the Seattle Prep Panthers in three games Friday by the scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-11.
The serves of Lindsey Bratonia and Hannah Stuart were the key for the Spartans, as Bratonia was under serve for a majority of the points in all three games, while Stuart’s jump serve helped close out the third game, as she had four aces.
Stuart finished with 14 kills, eight aces and nine digs, while Marijke Schwarz-Smith had eight kills and three blocks.
Ally Post had 24 assists and contributed offensively with two kills.
Kelcey Dunaway had six kills and three blocks while Hillary Grant had seven digs.
The Bainbridge football were also victorious in their first Metro League contest of the season with a 27-20 victory over Eastside Catholic.
Dayton Gilbreath rushed for two touchdowns while Quinton Agosta threw the game tying touchdown to Bryan Gilbreath and ran in the two-point conversion.
The Bainbridge girls soccer team were also victorious over Eastside Catholic 1-0 on Thursday.
Caitlyn Salo scored the only goal on an assist from Ashley Waplinger in the 65th minutes.
All three teams have big games next week.
The girls soccer team (2-0, 5-1) takes on undefeated Holy Names (3-0, 5-0) at home Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. for the Mountain Division lead.
Volleyball (2-0, 5-1) takes on Bishop Blanchet (2-0, 5-1) Wednesday at Paski Gymnasium at 6 p.m. for the Mountain Division lead.
The football team (1-0, 4-0) hosts O’Dea (who defeated Seattle Prep tonight) at 7 p.m. Friday for the Mountain Division lead.
The Spartans are looking for their first win against O’Dea since 2001.
