Spartan boys snag No. 2 spot in Metro golf standings

A collective team score of 36 scored the second-place spot in the Metro League standings for the Bainbridge High boys varsity golf team this week, beating out teams from Bishop Blanchet, Roosevelt and Seattle Prep.

A collective team score of 36 scored the second-place spot in the Metro League standings for the Bainbridge High boys varsity golf team this week, beating out teams from Bishop Blanchet, Roosevelt and Seattle Prep.

Bainbridge grabbed the No. 2 spot by two points.

Bishop Blanchet and Roosevelt tied for third place, both finishing the tourney with a score of 34. Seattle Prep managed 23. Lakeside was the top team, with a score of 60.5.

Several individual Spartans were recognized for their success as well.

Colin Campbell was named to the Boys First Team All-League, and both Brooks Wallace and Andy Becker made the roster of the Boys Second Team All-League.

In the standings, all BHS players finished in the top 35.

Campbell staked a claim to the sixth-place position with a final score of 151. Becker ended the tournament in eighth place (154), Wallace in 17th (162) and Brooks Lierle and Thomas Crowley were two-thirds of a three-way tie for 18th place. Tad Grindeland rounded out the roster in 35th place (173).

The top player of the tournament was Lakeside’s Stephen Dai, with a final score of 145.
