Snow prompts schedule changes at Bainbridge Island City Hall

Continued snow forced the delayed opening of Bainbridge Island City Hall Wednesday.

City hall opened at 10 a.m. Jan. 15.

Winter weather has prompted multiple schedule changes for the city.

Officials closed city hall due to the weather on Monday, Jan. 13, and the city council meetings planned for Tuesday, Jan. 14 were postponed.

The regular and special meetings that had been planned for Tuesday have been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16.

The public hearing for the self-storage facilities moratorium will be rescheduled for the Jan. 28 business meeting, officials said.

More snow is forecast for Wednesday.

Due to anticipated freezing weather conditions, the severe weather shelter at the Bainbridge Island Senior Center will be open through Thursday night; check-in is between 6 and 9 p.m.
