Unidentified human remains have been found in Port Orchard, the police department announced in a March 11 statement.

Officials were called March 10 to an open field near the intersection of Leader International Drive and Lumsden Road after a 911 call reporting the discovery of the remains was made.

The POPD statement says the search led to the location of the “skeletonized remains of a subject.” Officials were unable to determine its identity or cause of death.
