Sister Island calendars on sale

Fifth- and second-graders at The Island School joined together to produce the calendar that Bainbridge Islanders love to support each year at this time. After third-grade teachers Boo Schneider (Ordway) and Alice Mendoza (Wilkes/Ordway) both retired, the project was passed on to the children at The Island School.

Now in its 21st year, the calendar raises money for construction projects, library and school supplies, scholarships, and other Sister Island undertakings. This year, Birds of Bainbridge grace the pages.

The calendar went on sale after Thanksgiving. Watch for young salespeople on the streets of Winslow. Student artists will sell calendars at T&C, Safeway, Ace Hardware, Bainbridge Bakers and Blackbird Bakery on Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14.
