The 12:20 p.m. sailing of Washington State Ferries from Seattle and the 1:10 p.m. sailing from Bainbridge Island were cancelled due to a medical emergency on board the vessel according to a Washington State Ferry press release.

A male passenger on the 11:30 a.m. Bainbridge-to-Seattle run suffered a heart attack and crew aboard the Tacoma performed CPR, said Marta Coursey, Director of Communications for WSF.

Seattle resident, 62-year-old George H. Powell, was a walk-on passenger said Sgt. Trent Cain of Washington State Patrol.

When the ferry arrived at Colman Dock, the Seattle Fire Department continued CPR for 40 minutes, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ferry has returned to its normal operating schedule.
