Repairs to the ferry M/V Wenatchee prompted the cancellation of three round trips on the Bainbridge Island-Seattle ferry route Sunday night.

Repairs to the ferry M/V Wenatchee prompted the cancellation of three round trips on the Bainbridge Island-Seattle ferry route Sunday night.

Mechanical problems forced the cancellation of sailings starting with the 4:40 p.m. Feb. 9 Seattle-to-Bainbridge sailing.

Two-boat service resumed late Sunday with the 9:45 p.m. Seattle-to-Bainbridge departure.

Marta Coursey of Washington State Ferries said the problems stemmed from a part that needed to be replaced related to the drive motors.

Repairs were made as soon as possible, Coursey said, and the Wenatchee was returned to service.
