Senior Dental Care: Washington State Smile Partners, a local nonprofit, has opened a Kitsap County preventive dental care clinic at the Bainbridge Island Senior Center. Licensed dental hygienists screen for dental disease, clean teeth, apply fluoride sealants, and provide gum care. Anyone 60 years and older may use the service. IVC Volunteers: Volunteers are urgently needed for Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, a nonprofit committed to assisting the elderly and those temporarily in need with the common tasks of daily living. Thoroughly Modern Millie: BPA Theatre School’s Camp Broadway collaborates with Bainbridge Dance Center in summer 2008 to stage the hit Broadway show “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” which runs July 30-Aug. 3 at Bainbridge Performing Arts, with shows at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The story centers on young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It’s 1922 in New York, a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Based on the popular movie, the stage version of Thoroughly Modern Millie includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.
