Rain brings end to burn ban on Bainbridge Island

The Bainbridge Island Fire Department has lifted the Stage 2 burn ban on the island.

The end of the burn ban was announced Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Assistant Fire Chief Luke Carpenter said the wildfire danger on Bainbridge has fallen to “moderate” following the recent rainy weather.

The ban had been put in place on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Carpenter said recreational fires using dry, natural firewood or charcoal are now allowed.
