A former Bainbridge Island resident was arrested at the ferry terminal Thursday evening, after allegedly bringing marijuana to the island for sale, police said.

The 22-year-old Seattle man was arrested at about 9:35 p.m. as he got off the incoming boat, Bainbridge Police Detective Scott Weiss said.

He was carrying an estimated 83 grams (about 3 ounces) of marijuana for delivery to a customer on Bainbridge Island. The customer was actually an informant working with police, Weiss said.

The suspect was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on $25,000 bail.

He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
