Pleasant Beach Village raised $30,000 to support PAWS through a restaurant tip-matching program in December.
Tips collected by servers at the four Pleasant Beach Village restaurants — Manor House, The Beach House Bar, Hammy’s Burgers and Marketplace — totaled $29,016 last month.
Those tips were then matched by Pleasant Beach Village and donated to PAWS to support pet adoption on Bainbridge Island and in North Kitsap County.
Pleasant Beach Village is located in the Lynwood Center neighborhood on the south end of Bainbridge Island.
“We want to thank our patrons for their charitable spirit, and our servers and staff who provided quality customer service to encourage our patrons to give so generously,” said Molly Pitts, managing partner of Pleasant Beach Village. “We are honored to be able to support PAWS in its ongoing, long-term commitment to providing much needed services for pets and pet owners in our community.”
Pleasant Beach Village has financially supported PAWS since 2011, Pitts said, including providing complimentary space for one of the two service locations in Kitsap County.
“This remarkable donation will help underwrite PAWS’ veterinary care and spay/neuter program for our adoptable cats and kittens, which is our largest expense each year,” said Diana George, executive director for PAWS.
“It will also help underwrite veterinary assistance for local low income families,” she said. “We truly appreciate everyone’s participation.”
