Peacock, a nonprofit, was founded in 2009 by a group of active family services professionals including pediatricians, family counselors, midwives, parents and grandparents, and nonprofit leaders who envisioned a center where family support resources and attachment-promoting childcare would combine to provide a much needed family resource hub for the greater Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap community.

“With our childcare center, after-school and summer programs in nature, along with family support and services, Peacock is indeed a community of care under one roof,” Haskin said.

Peacock currently provides content rich early childhood education and flexible childcare options for children ages 1 through 5 at its Early Childhood Development Center on Madison Avenue.

The nonprofit announced expansion plans for Peacock’s family programs and services throughout the coming months as the organization explores new ways to support the families in the community.
