Paul Elmer Shipp went to be with the Lord on Sept. 20, 2015, with his entire family by his side.
Born on Aug. 28, 1935, in Bismarck, North Dakota, raised in the Yakima Valley, and later in Pacifica, California. He met and married the love of his life, Nancy Tomlinson in 1960.
Paul worked for the city of Pacifica, California, as the chief engineer of public works for 20 years.
The Shipp family moved to Bainbridge Island in 1974, where Paul was the head engineer at New Richmond Laundries until he retired in 1999.
He and Nancy enjoyed retirement by taking road trips, gardening and enjoying their grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy; six children; and nine grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Oct. 3 at Gateway Fellowship in Poulsbo.
