Online fundraiser to help PAWS

PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap is taking its annual gala fundraiser online again this year, bringing together animal lovers for entertainment, a live auction and games.

The event is June 5 from 7-8:30 p.m. Cost is $50 at http://pawsbink.org/paws-gala/.

Money raised helps fund programs that PAWSBINK provides the community, including adoption services, veterinary financial aid and spay/neuter assistance.

This year, to add to the fun under the “PAWSjama Party” theme, attendees are encouraged to get comfy in their PJs and sweats while indulging in treats and libations during the event.

Here’s what to expect:

•Gift bags: Prior to the event, PAWSBINK volunteers will drop off a gift package containing tasty treats for people and pets, a libation, and other goodies from sponsors.

•Wags to Riches raffle: One raffle winner will receive a package of lotto scratch tickets .

•Fun and games: Enjoy bingo, trivia and other virtual games.

•Live auction: Bid on a host of prizes, including a wine tasting trip to Sonoma Valley, a camping equipment package, a five-night stay in Maui, a Bainbridge police boat ride-along and more.

•Great stories: See the impact of your donation dollars with heartwarming “tails” from some of the people and pets PAWSBINK has supported over the past year.

PAWS has been able to make a difference in the health and well-being of local pets for 46 years. Along with services mentioned earlier, others include: Pets and Loving Seniors, which places harder-to-adopt senior animals in the homes of limited-income senior adults, with food, litter, and veterinary care, all provided by PAWS; and the SafeHarbor program, providing free housing and care for pets of families in crisis, including hospitalization due to COVID-19.
