Ninth death in Washington traced to COVID-19

Nine people in Washington state have now died from the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), officials with the Washington State Department of Health said Tuesday.

Eight of those who died have been in King County. The other death occurred in Snohomish County.

In all, 27 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, officials reported Tuesday.

Six patients in Snohomish County have contracted COVID-19, and 21 people in King County have also tested positive.

The number of people under public health supervision remains at 231 patients.
