Local author Marcia Rudoff will be offering a new class on memoir writing at the Waterfront Park Community Center.

The class, which kicks off April 4 and runs through June 20,  will use her book “We have Stories: A handbook for writing your memoirs” (2009).

Rudoff said the sessions will help anyone thinking of writing their life’s story — and not knowing where to begin — get off to a great start.

“Everyone has a tale to tell,” Rudoff said. “Learn how to put your story into words; carefully developed writing exercises will help you to express yourself more easily and lead you to an enjoyable, significant exploration of your personal narrative.”

Previous writing experience is not required. Attendees should bring a notebook, pen, enthusiasm and memories. Former class members wishing to sit in for a refresher class or for mixed lessons are also invited to join. The textbook fee is $15 (make checks payable to BISCC).

Sign-ups will be taken at the Waterfront Park Community Center reception desk or by calling 206-842-1616. Pre-enrollment is advised.

For more information, call Rudoff at 206-842-3383.
