Knobloch, Brackett elected to council

Incumbent Bill Knobloch was re-elected to a third term on the Bainbridge Island City Council Tuesday, while Kim Brackett was elected from the south end.

Incumbent Bill Knobloch was re-elected to a third term on the Bainbridge Island City Council Tuesday, while Kim Brackett was elected from the south end.

Knobloch easily beat back a challenge by John Waldo, earning 57 percent of the vote in unofficial final returns. Brackett bested Curt Winston with 54 percent.

In other races, Lee Cross outpaced Nancy Jacques for a seat on the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park and Recreation District board, earning 60 percent.

In the only other contested island race, Paul Bang-Knudsen earned 62 percent of the vote against Paul Topper to claim a seat on the Bainbridge Island Fire Department board.
