Jan Fahey Redmond passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at her home on Bainbridge Island. She was 53.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1961.

Jan loved to dance, was vivacious and had a real zest for life. She cherished her friends and has a lot of them.

Her passion in life has always been her family and the relationship she had with her children Andy, Sarah and Brendan.

Jan’s gift was her ability to make strangers her friends. She could light up a room and generate laughter and smiles. Jan lived life to the fullest, enjoying every moment without wanting to be defined by her cancer. Unfortunately it was her cancer that took her away so the family is encouraging donations to fund research at the Hutch rather than sending flowers (http://getinvolved.fhcrc.org/goto/Jan_Redmond).

Jan is survived by her parents James Mark and Ellen Fahey of Atlanta, Georgia; husband Stephen Redmond, children Brendan Richard Redmond and Sarah Nicole Redmond of Bainbridge Island and Andrew Stephen Redmond of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves behind her siblings: Mark, Cindy, Karen and Rob, also her cherished and dear friends and family at the Cove on Cherry Lane in Richfield Springs, New York and her “committee” friends on Bainbridge.

A Celebration of Life Memorial was held Monday, Oct. 20 at the Kiana Lodge in Suquamish.
