VillageSpeak welcomes five generations of Bainbridge Islanders who will share their most extraordinary high school yarns tonight at Bainbridge Performing Arts.

The audience, will be invited to share theirs, too, whether schooling was near or afar.

Peter Raffa (Boys & Girls Club of King County) will moderate the storytelling, and the storytellers are Ed King, Dick Berg, Dick Shryock, Bob Woodman, Bob Mcallister, Marilyn Turkovich, Dana Dean Doering, Jim Thomsen, Dee Axelrod, Katy Curtis, Lori Midthun, Lone Hansen and Linda Wolf.

Dance artist Kiplinn Sagmiller (“The Women,” “Cats” during the 2011-12 BPA season) will choreograph and demonstrate popular period dances from the last five decades. Sagmiller will be accompanied by 2012 Bainbridge High School grads who studied under her at Bainbridge Dance Center while attending BHS.

The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. in the main theater at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Center, and storytelling is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6

There will be raffle prizes, people’s awards for best stories and best dance moves.

A standing reception with cake and ice cream will be held afterward in the lobby.

Tickets are $5 and will benefit VillageSpeak, Bainbridge Island History Museum, Bainbridge Youth Services and Bainbridge Performing Arts.
