A Poulsbo man remains hospitalized Monday in Seattle after suffering serious injuries in a one-car accident on Pleasant Beach Drive on Sunday, Nov. 22.

Bainbridge Police Lt. Sue Shultz said that family members of William Eisenhardt, 51, reported he is still hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center for multiple injuries.

Shultz said charges of vehicular assault and reckless driving may be filed against Eisenhardt. She said that high speed and alcohol “appear to be factors in the collision, however, the investigation continues.”

Eisenhardt and passenger Samuel Boyce, 28, of Bainbridge Island, were airlifted to Harborview after the 1997 Porsche Boxster Eisenhardt was driving struck a power pole at the 3700 block of Pleasant Beach Drive while southbound at 10:38 p.m. on Nov. 22.

According to Boyce’s family, Shultz said, he has been released from the hospital.

Police said impact of the collision totaled the vehicle and broke the power pole. Eisenhardt and Boyce were trapped until Bainbridge Island firefighters extricated them from the vehicle.
