Volunteers at Ordway Elementary are looking for some additional help as they build a new garden for the school this weekend.

Gardeners will be building six raised garden beds and putting up protective fencing around the perimeter.

Organizers of the work party said no expertise is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help. Volunteers are needed from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8. The group will meet behind the school next to the portables.

Helpers should bring work gloves and any tools (hammer, carpenter’s square, etc.). Kids are welcome, but won’t participate in the actual garden construction for safety reasons.
