Hauge remains in front, but gap narrows, in race for prosecutor

The Kitsap County Election Division announced a new vote tally in the race late Friday, and Hauge’s slim advantage over Robinson has dwindled to 113 votes.

Hauge, a Democrat, now leads in the race by 50.0 percent.

Robinson, a Republican, has 49.9 percent of the vote.

The vote count is 37,297 for Hauge, and 37,184 for Robinson.

The race has been on a roller coaster since Election Night, when Hauge led in early returns.

A revised vote count on Wednesday put Robinson ahead by 32 votes, but Hauge reclaimed the lead in Thursday’s vote tally, and led by 468 votes.

Elections officials said the next vote tally will be the night of Nov. 8. Election workers expect to count 6,600 ballots.

In the other close race in Kitsap County, Republican Ed Wolf has 50.3 percent of the vote for the District 3 county commissioner’s seat.

Incumbent Democrat Linda Streissguth has 49.6 percent of the vote.

The vote count is 37,490 for Wolf, and 36,996 for Streissguth — a difference of 494 votes.
