All women are invited to join Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views to learn from Anita Rockefeller about “Starting and Managing a Community Garden.”
When the recession hit, Anita and Phil Rockefeller realized there would be an increase in the number of families needing to turn to Helpline, the food bank. They had an unused garden space where they could raise food to donate, but they realized they could not do it alone. They decided to invite the community to raise food for themselves and the food bank.
This presentation will be about how they created the garden and how it has worked out the past five years.
SWERV meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, June 10 at Filipino American Hall on High School Road.
