Girls Night Out is Thursday

The women-centered event opens downtown Winslow for a day of shopping, special promotions and ultimately time with gal pals. It's topped off with an after party that lingers into the island night.

It’s been said the best thing about being a woman, is the prerogative to have a little fun.

The sentiment is perhaps never more true on Bainbridge Island than during the annual Girls Night Out.

The women-centered event opens downtown Winslow for a day of shopping, special promotions and ultimately time with gal pals. It’s topped off with an after party that lingers into the island night.

More than 30 Winslow shops will feature in-store promotions until 9 p.m. Thursday, May 9.

Women of all ages start the day by purchasing a $10 swag bag at Blinx, Eloisa, Sweet Deal Clothing or the Island Renew Day Spa & Salon; each located on Winslow Way. In addition to free items in the bags, bag bearers will have access to discounts, coupons, trunk shows and in-store demonstrations.

For every $10 further spent at Girls Night Out, ladies receive another string of beads that can be turned in for raffle tickets. The tickets will be drawn at the after party and are good for a variety of prizes.

The after party will be held at 9 p.m. at Casa Rojas in the Pavilion on Madison Avenue. Participants don’t have to be present to claim their prizes at the after party, but prizes will go on a first come first served basis.

DJ Compa will be bumping music into the night at the after party.

Event organizers with the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association expect approximately 300 women to swarm the downtown area during this year’s event.
