SEATTLE – The Bainbridge girls basketball team stayed alive to fight another day, defeating Nathan Hale 49-40 in a 3A Sea-King District 2 loser-out game Thursday at Ingraham High School.

The Spartans, now playing with a four guard lineup with the loss of center Megan Burris, slowly got out to a 13-10 lead after the first quarter and were able to work their way to a 27-19 lead at halftime.

Brittany Gray led the way with eight points in the second quarter, all of them inside.

But Hale went on a 11-3 run in the third quarter as Bainbridge went ice cold.

Lindsay Bratonia scored four points to open the fourth and keep the Spartans up for good.
