Fraga earns bachelor’s degree at Oberlin College

Kaleena Fraga of Bainbridge Island graduated from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio in May, earning a bachelor of arts degree with a dual major of history and French.

Kaleena Fraga of Bainbridge Island graduated from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio in May, earning a bachelor of arts degree with a dual major of history and French.

Kaleena, who graduated from Bainbridge High in 2009, was awarded a George and Carrie Life Prize from the Oberlin Department of History for Excellence in American History.

This fall she will be part of the Teaching Assistant Program in France, which is sponsored by The French Ministry of Education and the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy. The program offers the opportunity to work in France for seven months, teaching English to French students of all ages. Each year, more than 1,100 American citizens and permanent residents teach in public schools across all regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion.

The new graduate is the daughter of Jeff and Kathe Fraga of Bainbridge Island.
