Forum series continues with discussion on voting

Kitsap Aware will present the program “Who Gets to Vote? Redistricting and the Voting Rights Act” at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8 at the Suquamish Museum.

The public is invited to join a non-partisan discussion of the process to determine voting districts and how it affects citizens’ voices in the democratic process.

Questions for discussion include:

• How has redistricting changed?

• What is gerrymandering and is it constitutional?

• How does technology affect voting rights?

• How can you influence the 2021 process in Washington state?

• What is the status of the current Washington State Voting Rights Act?

The featured speaker will be Alison McCaffree, executive director of Politics of the Possible in Action.

The Kitsap Aware forum series covers topics of justice and citizenship, and

is sponsored by North Kitsap Indivisible, Indivisible Kingston, Resisterhood360, Indivisible Bainbridge, and the Kitsap Progressive Action Network. Admission is free.

The Suquamish Museum is at 6861 NE South St., Suquamish.
